The Marshall Tucker Band, The StepCrew, Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder are about to join Struthers Library Theater history.

The theater has announced its Celebrity Series event for the Winter-Spring 2023 season.

“Our celebrity series brings our communities together in a historic space to share a love of the arts at the highest level,” Marketing assistant Baylie Hoffman said. “This series allows Struthers Library Theater to continue its legacy of memorable experiences, enhance cultural appreciation for all ages, and preserve our historic theater building for current and future generations.”

“The Struthers Library Theater is delighted to announce that the Marshall Tucker Band, The StepCrew, and Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder will take their place in our proud 140-year history,” said Hoffmann.

“Southern rock stalwarts The Marshall Tucker Band kick off the season Saturday, February 25, presented by Whirley DrinkWorks,” said Hoffmann. “They represent an unforgettable time and place in music. With hit singles like ‘Heard It In a Love Song’, ‘Fire On The Mountain’, ‘Can’t You See’ and ‘Take The Highway’ they have earned seven gold and three platinum albums. »

The group will be led by founding member and vocalist Doug Gray.

“As we get older, our Southern heritage seems to stand out even more,” Gray said. “But no matter how old we are, we can still rock you.”

“On Sunday, March 5, we welcome The StepCrew, a dynamic dance production combining three styles of percussive dance – Irish, Tap and Ottawa Valley,” said Hoffman. “The StepCrew strikes the ultimate balance between respecting traditional dance forms and creating exciting modern fusions never seen or heard before.”

The performance will feature Celtic/British folk duo Warren Sixpence and is presented by the Defrees Family Memorial Fund and the Community Foundation of Warren County.

“Bluegrass and Country Legend Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder Arrive Saturday, May 20” said Hoffman. “With hit singles such as ‘Crying My Heart Out Over You’, ‘I Don’t Care’ and ‘Heart Broke’, Ricky Skaggs produces bluegrass music that preserves the musical legacy of the most talented artists in his generation.”
