Maisie Williams was inspired by Lydia Deetz while doing her hair for Paris Fashion Week. On Jan. 23, the “Pistol” star debuted a series of spiky micro-bangs at the Christian Dior haute couture Spring/Summer 2023 show. As TikTok users took inspiration from Wednesday Addams to experiment with more edgy and darker fashion trends, Williams let Tim Burton’s quirky gothic heroine inspire her look. “Very Parisian,” hairstylist Yumiko Hikage captioned behind-the-scenes footage of Williams getting ready for the day on her Instagram Stories.

For her face, Williams’ makeup artist Hélène Vasnier used Dior Beauty products to apply heavy mascara, bold eyeliner and a series of plunging lashes. As a finishing touch, Vasnier used black eyeliner to dot each of Williams’ lids, applying a second dot near the outer corner of each eye. The Parisienne’s mime-inspired makeup, Lydia Deetz outfit and “Nightmare Before Christmas” style dress for a subtly avant-garde look.

The former ‘Game of Thrones’ star tied the ensemble together with a black and white plaid patchwork dress, complete with a lace-up corset.

In 2021, Williams made her Met Gala debut with an inky black bow hairstyle that paired beautifully with her winged eyeliner. The following year, she returned to the steps of the Costume Institute in a tight bun covered in jeweled locks of hair styled in flat waves. The finished look was a Betty Boop-esque bun almost as edgy as her micro bangs.
