1) Will County’s Forest Preserve District hosts “Who’s Ready for the Winter Scavenger Hunt” from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Hidden Oaks Nature Center, 419 Trout Farm Road, Bolingbrook . 2) The Billie Limacher Bicentennial Park and Theater will host its Playwrights and Poets Festival featuring short plays and original one-act poems from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday at 201 W. Jefferson St. in Joliet. This is the reimagining of the “Festival of Emerging Playwrights” of the park and theater. Featured authors include Phoebe Carmine. Allison Fradkin. 3) Head to the Rialto Square Theater at 8 p.m. Friday in Joliet to hear American country music singer Scott McCreery perform. The Rialto Square Theater is located at 102 N. Chicago St. in Joliet. 4) Three musical guests will perform at the studio at 8 p.m. Friday for January’s Spotlight Singer/Songwriter Spotlight. 5) BSA Girls Troop 2562, Shorewood and Plainfield Scouts will be hosting an all-you-can-eat pancake lunch from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday at Cantigny Post 367 VFW, 826 Horseshoe Drive in Joliet. Breakfast also includes potatoes, sausages, juice and coffee. Tickets are $9 at the door.
