Rapid digitization has forced fashion brands to rethink how shopping in the digital world happens, but a more interconnected retail experience has increased the number of cyberattacks against fashion businesses in Australia, according to exhibition management company Defensible.

Tenable says that in fact the Australian Information Commissioner’s Office Notifiable Data Breach Report revealed that the Australian retail sector was the third most targeted sector for cyberattacks, after finance and healthcare.

Tenable notes that with the growing sophistication of cybercrime, increasing regulatory requirements, and high customer expectations for digital experiences, it urges fashion brands to strengthen their cyber defenses and make Active Directory security ( AD) a strategic imperative.

“AD has become a prime target for attackers to elevate privileges and facilitate lateral movement by exploiting known flaws and misconfigurations,” said Scott McKinnel, Tenable ANZ Country Manager.

“Unfortunately, most fashion organizations struggle with AD security due to misconfigurations that accumulate as domains become more complex, leaving security teams unable to find and fix vulnerabilities before they happen. ‘they don’t become business-impacting issues.’

Tenable says the fashion industry, like many other industries, faces a number of security issues when it comes to protecting its AD environment.

“Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) can pose a significant challenge for the fashion industry when it comes to AD security. During the M&A process, companies may need to merge multiple AD environments, which can be complex and time-consuming, and it can be difficult to ensure that all systems and data are properly integrated and secure,” warns Tenable.

“Supply chain attacks target vulnerable third-party suppliers or vendors to gain access to a target organization’s systems and data. In the context of AD, an attacker could exploit vulnerabilities in third-party software or service integrated with AD to gain access to sensitive information, such as customer data and financial information.

“Today, data is the most valuable asset for fashion businesses. The idea of data security for the fashion industry has expanded beyond the traditional protection of designs and patterns. to include valuable information regarding customer demographics and buying habits. The main security threat comes from industrial espionage – competitors trying to stealthily obtain classified information.

According to Tenable, Active Directory is equipped with the capabilities needed to proactively detect security threats within a fashion company’s AD infrastructure – resulting from merger and acquisition activity, weak links in the business chain. supply and poorly protected data – and respond to live attacks to stop attackers in their tracks.

ENABLE HYBRID CLOUD AND REDUCE NETWORK LATENCY WHITE PAPER

The hybrid cloud promises to bring together the best of both worlds, allowing businesses to combine the scalability and cost-effectiveness of the cloud with the performance and control you can get from your on-premises infrastructure.

Reducing WAN latency is one of the biggest hybrid cloud performance issues. Leveraging data compression and deduplication can reduce your network latency.

Markets and Markets research firm predicted that the size of the hybrid cloud market is expected to grow from US$38.27 billion in 2017 to US$97.64 billion by 2023.

Colocation facilities offer many benefits of having your servers in the cloud while maintaining physical control of your systems.

The cloud adjacency provided by colocation facilities can allow you to take advantage of their high-bandwidth, low-latency connections to the cloud, as well as provide a solid connection to your on-premises corporate network.
