Action movie “The Point Men” is gearing up for its North American premiere!
“The Point Men” tells the story of people who travel to Afghanistan to rescue Korean missionaries taken hostage by the Taliban. In this film, the Korean government sends in the skillful diplomat Jeong Jae Ho (Hwang Jung Min) to handle the situation. Once there, he asks for the cooperation of the Afghan government and uses all possible means to free the hostages. However, his efforts are in vain and he is forced to work with National Intelligence Service agent Dae Sik (Hyun Bin), who is an expert on the Middle East. The two become unlikely allies in a race against time to save the hostages.
The film is helmed by director Yim Soon Rye, who has previously created films such as “The Whistleblower” and “Little Forest.” She talked about her new film, “It’s the story of the plight of people saving people”, and how it focuses on the stories of people running to save people rather than the dichotomy between good and evil.
“The Point Men” recently had its Korean premiere on January 17 and will also hit theaters in the United States and Canada on January 27 (local time). Check here to find out if the movie is coming to a theater near you.
