Scandinavian label Filippa K kicked off Copenhagen Fashion Week with a texture-rich Fall/Winter 2023 collection.
With a focus on outerwear, creative director Liisa Kessler took artistic notes from the 1974 film of Werner Herzog’s 1974 documentary The great ecstasy of woodcarver Steiner, retracing the life of the athlete Walter Steiner. The assortment of apparel effortlessly offers exciting textures designed to weather winter storms, while providing a refreshing sense of laid-back confidence.
Cognac-hued patent leather trench coats sit alongside ultra-cropped motocross jackets with shearling details in the same hue. A floor-length fuzzy ice blue coat gives off a chic Yeti vibe, while a denim long coat provides warmth with an inner sherpa lining. A standout ensemble is a pale green fleece pullover paired with a soft blue balaclava and midi knit skirt.
Flowing cream-yellow dresses add a much-needed feminine touch to oversized plaid blazers, while an iridescent sheer skirt elevates a monochromatic ensemble. A delicate obsidian tulle dress rebels against the current temperatures, providing enough sweltering warmth on its own.
