Superhero branded products always catch people’s eyes and it’s not the first time we’ve tested them here and there’s more to come on that front but today we have the tech themed headphones OTL Superman and while they look good the sound is a big factor to consider and with the really cheap price they come in how they sound is what people will want to know and we We’ve been testing them for a while now and it’s time to talk about them.
They come nicely presented in a simple Superman themed box and with some extra tips and a USB-C cable to get you started and the case is plastic with a glossy finish but without attracting fingerprints the overall case is light and cheap but remember the price here.
The design of the earphones fit me and are average and they fit very well and fit snugly and won’t all come out of your ears, these for me are more for kids but that doesn’t mean someone’s other can use them. There’s decent isolation from the outside world once fitted with the right guidance and you’re good to go.
There’s no app here that’s acceptable to me and again I think they’re aimed at a younger generation and that also keeps the cost down, there’s also no wireless charging on the box. Battery life is quite decent and without having ANC and other power demanding features and 6 hours is acceptable at this price, in my testing around 5 hours 30 minutes was more accurate.
So with the lack of EQ apps and settings, how do they sound and what controls do we have. You can skip and reverse, play/pause a track, answer/reject phone calls or activate the voice assistant and there’s a volume control too. So it is a simple and straightforward affair to use.
Overall the sound was deep with bass and doable but for a kid or teenager they’re fine, there was no distortion at max volume and do a decent job in every way you’ll want maybe a third EQ to try and get a better balance for if you’re an older person but for kids it’s fine, anyone older maybe expecting more from them when it comes to customization can look elsewhere.
