The Billy Price Band is a Pittsburgh-based band consisting of Dave Dodd on drums, Tom Valentine on bass, Lenny Smith on guitar, Jim Britton on keyboard, Eric Spaulding on saxophone and Joe Herndon on trumpet.

Guest artists included will be Charlie Barath on harmonica and the Jimmy Adler Blues Band with Mike Sweeney on bass, Joe Cunningham on drums and John Burgh on keys, and of course, Jimmy Adler on guitar and vocals.

The newly nominated Blues Music Awards (BMA) band have released a total of 20 albums, CDs and DVDs and have toured extensively around the world. The 44th BMAs will be held at the Renasant Convention Center in downtown Memphis on May 11, 2023.

The BMAs are recognized as the highest honor given to blues musicians and are awarded by the votes of members of the Blues Foundation. Billy Price has been nominated for the 2023 Soul Blues Male Artist award. This is not Price’s first BMA nomination, however. In 2020, Price was again nominated for Best Soul Blues Male Artist at the Blues Music Awards.

Billy Price began to gain recognition in the blues music industry in the mid-1970s by collaborating with Roy Buchanan, another blues guitarist. After touring with Buchanan, Price formed the Keystone Rhythm Band which lasted until 1990. Price then created the Billy Price Band, releasing their debut album in 1993.

In 2022, Price released a 3-CD compilation album titled “50+ Years of Soul”.

The band won the Pittsburgh City Paper Reader’s Poll in 2021 and 2022 as the top blues band in town.

Despite touring and performing throughout the state of Pennsylvania, Billy Price never performed in Indiana, Pennsylvania. This will be his first performance at the Indiana Theater.

Don’t miss the unmissable Pittsburgh Blues on Saturday, January 28. The Billy Price Band will perform at 7 p.m. at the Indiana Theater located on Philadelphia Street. The theme for the evening is “Winter Blues” and will be followed by Pennsylvania locals interested in hearing classic soul and blues.
