It is currently Haute Couture week in Paris and Hollywood stars are ready to attend all the new shows. I mean, do you even to see Doja Cat and Kylie Jenner at Schiaparelli? This morning, Anne Hathaway was spotted in the French town – and although she’s probably saving a more glamorous outfit for the front row, her casual off-duty look still looked stunningly chic. Her choice of hat, in particular, gives us a fashion case déjà vu. She revived a polarizing Y2K style that she also wore as Andy Sachs in The devil wears Prada.

The controversial accessory in question? It would be the pageboy cap, which was all the rage in the 2000s among stars like Jennifer Lopez, Britney Spears and Gwen Stefani (they may have even worn them with a dress over jeans!). Although the pageboy has since gone into fashion – Miu Miu showed furry ones in the fall 2017 collection – it was never more popular than at the turn of the millennium. As Sachs in the 2006 film, Hathaway wore several famous styles, whether with a sleek white coat or mounds of Chanel necklaces.

Seeing Hathaway bring it to 2023 is therefore an unexpected treat. His approach to his understated black version was certainly sophisticated. The star paired it with a navy overcoat, cream sweater and wide leg jeans. The ensemble was surprisingly understated and classic, not at all Y2K inspired. However, her silver pointy boots added a touch of pizzazz. It’s sewing week, after all.
